Not mentioned in this article is that Greg Blache , pilot of the ZIM, is Black, and the only Black pilot in the Association. The ZIM rammed the LEE, a supply vessel, as it veered to avoid a collision with the ZIM in fog near the Mississippi bar.

ZIM Mexico III pilot Greg Blache kept his cool and stuck to his story Tuesday, even as attorneys tried to tear holes in his testimony that a supply boat crossed in front of his vessel's bow moments before a fatal Feb. 21 crash on the Mississippi River.

Still, some doubts emerged about the precision of Blache's memory, which was put to a severe test ...................

This is typical. The blacks around here who are entrusted with vehicles--government vans, log trucks, what have you--invariably crash them at some point, and also invariably, they assert "a deer ran out in front of me."

I guess this one had the brains not to use this exact excuse.
