Well, not that it will be a surprise to many here, but the Senate handily (52-47) renewed the '94 AW ban for another ten years.

Also not surprising is the fact that ten Republicans, good conservatives all, voted for the renewal as well.

The good thing is that maybe it'll wake up some of the Freeper crowd to the fact that Republicans do not care a bit for "conservative" values. Then again, maybe not.

There's a whole lotta whining over at gunnie boards like www.thehighroad.org but that's all there will ever be. For those types it really doesn't matter whether they have guns or not. They would only ever stroke them in secret in the basement and hand them in the first time anyone with a badge says "boo!" They really seem to think that by begging their elected betters they can convince them to do the right thing. Why? What's Jew Schumer's incentive to "do" anything for the goy cattle? I can only think of one, and it's precisely the incentive that most Freeper types would rather die than consider.

EDITED TO ADD: Looks like the Senate just killed the final version of the bill. The 52-47 vote was for an amendment to extend the AW ban for ten years, but the overall bill (Gun industry protection from frivilous lawsuits) went down, which was probably the original intention (hey, there were shekels to be extracted!) What I said above still applies in spades, as the Repukelicans still were ready to disarm the peasants...

There absolutely needs to be an armed demonstration against the AW ban. It should be peaceful to start with, but if any pigs attempt to bust anyone, they should be warned first, then destroyed.

All participants should arrive fully-armed with a rifle, a handgun, loaded spare mags, a gas mask, and preferably some body armor. Even 1000 people so equipped would be a formidable force in a US city.

It's time for the S to finally HTF. This "write your Congressman" BS is getting old -- and we're not getting any younger, either.

:furious:

Agreed. There was some discussion of a demonstration like this over at the above-mentioned forum, but a lot of panic arose at the suggestion with the idea that it would scare the sheeple into demanding that the government crack down on guns more.

Let's see. You're a big, bad muthafka and nobody's gonna take your gun except from your "cold, dead hands" but you're desperately afraid of what a PMS-ing soccer mom is going to squeal about should you be seen in public with a battle rifle?

Huh?

No wonder the likes of Feinstein, Lautenberg and Schumer are winning.

Fox News is reporting that the NRA saved the day. Think the NRA is finally getting the message after some of us throwing away their mail for the last 2 years or more? Sounds like even the White House is backing away from supporting a new ban. I guess big bad GW isn't so confident about his re-election anymore. If the NRA keeps it up, I might return, but too little too late from Bush...and ol' John Warner standing up their with Feinstein.

Each Time

Yet again, Jews have scored a victory in the never-ending gun law action in Washington, DC. Two top Jewish politicians got an amendment added to a pro-gun bill -- an amendment that extended the 1994 assault-rifle ban for another 10 years. That action doomed the bill by default.

Each time, one race impacts guns laws in Washington, DC. [1] Will the NRA ever mention that fact? http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/02/26/senate.guns.ap/ [CNN article which mentions Senators Schumer and Feinstein, both Jewish, at the bottom of the page. Also mentioned is yet another Jewish Senator, Boxer].
