People on stormfront are always thinking up new illogical reasons why they should keep parading around in white sheets and stormtrooper uniforms. "It doesn't matter what we look like, they'll still vilify us!"

Case in point. Mel Gibson was attacked on the nightly news daily for months. His movie is already a mega hit that has broken many records.

Let's imagine that Mel Gibson went on MSNBC with a nazi flag and yelled seig heil. Do you think tens of thousands of people would be lined up on a cold Wednesday morning to see his film?

I sure as hell would be.

I caught a visual on that.

Man, that would be the cinematic event of the millenium!
While I'm pleased that a movie like The Passion has been made and am even more pleased to see that it incurs the wrath of Abe Foxman and Co, those who think that Mel Gibson is the new "great white hope" and a crypto-white nationalist (or even a paleoconservative) who will usher in a new era in America are deceiving themselves.

Sure, the ADL hates The Passion. The ADL also hates Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and John Hagee. Does that mean that those obsequiously philosemitic and "anti-racist" "Christian Zionists" are apostles for our movement? The ADL burbles about The Passion inciting "anti-Semitism," but in their mind an elderly Judge who hangs the Ten Commandments in his courthouse is also "inciting anti-Semitism." This isn't to say that we shouldn't support Gibson as we might support School Prayer, but to think that ADL sputtering marks Mel as some revolutionary is to forget that the ADL makes a living by hyperbole and crying wolf.

For some reality checks, I suggest that people here visit Free Republic and other mainstream GOP message boards. Most of the people there support Gibson and The Passion, and these are the same people who bray "LETS ROLE" on cue from Ariel Sharon. Furthermore, while the Jewish fringe Left is hostile to the movie, most neocon rags are either quiet about the film or even mouth a few token words in its defense. So the idea tht the film will win many people over to our cause is ridiculous. The most that can be hoped is that ADL reaction to the film might accomplish that.
Yeah, good points and all well taken.

I think that this little episode indicates our path forward lies through exploiting the innate Pharisaical fear of the cross. It makes them crazy enough to show their hand. Hell, some were talking about the Talmudic version of Jesus. If for only tactical reasons. I see no reason for all not to employ it, regardless of personal beliefs.
