Webmaster's note: Recently on the Russian Orthodox pages of the Eurasian Anti-Imperialist Website we published an article entitled The Schengen Zone dealing with the subject of the number of the beast, '666', present on barcodes and on the new electronic 'Schengen passport' being foisted on the citizens of the European Union.
Our readers may not be aware that the author of that article, Father Superior of Moscow's Sretensky Monastery Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkunov), is Vladimir Putin's confessor and spiritual advisor. Father Tikhon is closely associated with former KGB General Nikolai Leonov, who now heads the Orthodox/patriotic television program Russky Dom and the monthly journal of the same name. Indeed, it's rumored that Father Tikhon introduced Leonov to the President. (An article from Russky Dom, entitled "The Morality of the Talmud", is available on this site.)
