Media! see www.hackworth.com and read Hack's column on Col. Scott Ritter.. The threats and crap he took were out rageous, but Scott stood up to them with out fleching. Living in Ireland and giving interview's on Irish Radio.. Scott Ridder will get my Write in vote, if he is not on the ballot. Excellent idea, I was watching Dennis Miller's new show a couple nights ago and Scott Miller was on. I was thoroughly impressed with Ritter.

He adamantly claimed that the liberation phase of Iraq is over and our continued presence there makes us occupiers, not liberators. (Very true since the only reason we are there now is to reign in the Shiites and keep them from uniting with the Iranians. )

Dennis Miller tried to attack Ritter by saying he was thoughtlessly disrespecting our troops. I thought back to the time when I was in Germany supporting our buildup in Kosovo, I only wish more Americans had been so disrespectful then.

Anyways, Ritter very diplomatically told Miller he was full of it and refused to back down. It was the first time and last time I'll watch Miller's show. He showed far more disrespect to Ritter than Ritter showed towards our troops.

Dennis Miller - the busboy of the Algonquin Round Table; quarterback for the Doritos-commercial scout team - do you think he realizes yet that CNBC is the place where former celebrities go to die? Two words, Den: Charles Grodin.

And just wait until the Bush/Iraq backlash is in full swing a few months from now: people will remember you as a key player in the chain of illogic that convinced the mooing public that bombing Iraq equals pimp-slapping France (so it's all good). I suppose he thinks his attack-dog loyalty to the War Party has earned him their lifelong fealty in return. Hey, Cha-Cha, two more words you need to know: Alfonse D'Amato.

A year from now, Miller will be lucky to be getting the car-alarm and used-furniture-outlet commercials that Erik Estrada can't clear his schedule to do. "That's the news and I'm outta here" will seem eerily prophetic.

Smedley: Yeah, I happened upon that article on Hackworth's site and was highly impressed with Ritter. It is also to Col. Hackworth's credit that he pointed out Ritter's courage.

il ragno: Not to kiss ass, but I must say, you have a real gift for satire. You should write an online book or something. I'm being totally serious.
