Does anyone here have any inside or in depth information on the Constitution Party?

No, but I'll probably vote for them.
Any hope of a conservative quixotic enought to attempt to oust Shrub from the GOP?
I didn't think so.

I know that their presumptive nominee, Michael Peroutka, seems to have no objection to the current war in Iraq, other than that it should have required a formal congressional declaration of war. I was leaning his way, in the wake of the (apparent, but not certain) demise of Howard Dean (he may yet win today's Washington state caucus and begin a comeback, quite possibly leading to a brokered convention), but if Peroutka's not against the war, I can't possibly support him.

To insist that there should be a congressional declaration of war is no small thing. And, it doesn't at all indicate that he approves of the war beyond his technical objection. The Constution Party itself seems naturally at enmity with Bush's global warmongering.

If I have to choose between warmonger Bush, Jew Kerry and Peroutka, why would I choose Bush? 99% of political candidates probably deserve to be tarred and feathered, but I'll still choose what I percieve to be the lesser of evils.

its absolutely diametrically opposed for a member of the Constitution Party to support us going into Iraq unprovoked, perhaps the words of Sen. Robert Byrd, who I wish I could duplicate for the next generation, are needed here. http://www.antiwar.com/orig/byrd8.html
