This Massachusetts gay marriage debacle raises this whole issue yet again. Why don't we have an amendment to recall these kooky judges? It worked with Gray Davis.

It would be nice to see someone in the executive branch take a stand and refuse to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Fat chance.

That would be nice, and it is what the governor of Massachusetts should do. Just like judges, the members of the executive and legislative branches are sworn to uphold the constitution. Therefore, the governor and legislators should not follow an unconstitutional judicial ruling. But, as you wrote, mw, "fat chance" of that happening.
