http://www.geoffmetcalf.com/drewcarey.html Here's a note from the actor/comedian Drew Carey (a former Marine). I hope you'll agree that he ought not to sugarcoat his feelings about these sort of things.
"How many militant feminists does it take to change a lightbulb? Two. One to change the bulb, and one to kiss my ass.
That's right. I said kiss my ass. 'Cause I've had it. I'm tired of being pushed around. Tired of being grouped in with all the dead-beat dads and rapists and lecherous bosses just because I'm a man. All men aren't potential rapists. I'm not a potential rapist. But, I am a potential murderer if all of you don't shut the f.~~k up and get out of my face already.
You've ruined it for everybody. Everybody, do you hear me? Men, women, everybody. Because of you and everyone else in this society that needs to play political victim and go to court instead of just dealing with it themselves, no one can have any kind of fun anymore. Men and women can't flirt, or hug, or look at anyone sideways because of you and your lawyers.
Are you happy? You've used a stink bomb to kill a few ants. And while I'm at it... Naval aviators, who are willing to die so that we can have low prices at the gas pump, should be able to throw the wildest parties they can manage without one uptight biddy coming in and stopping it. There were scads of women at that Tailhook party who were having the time of their lives, voluntarily being just as debauched as any of the men.
Everyone who flew a plane or even knew someone who flew a plane knew how wild those parties were and what went on. What did she expect? A prayer service? And why didn't she just throw some punches of her own when these couple of guys groped her? Why didn't she give them what they had coming and just kick them in the balls? Didn't our tax money go to teach her how to fight?
I'm not trying to make the idiotic "she had it coming" arguement here, which would go something like "of course they grabbed her tits, look how big they are." Plus, just reaching out and grabbing some tits is wrong no matter what. When I was in college, even at our most drunken fraternity parties we never acted like that. No matter how hard I try I can't think of an excuse good enough to do something like that. But it's still nothing to lose a career over.
Besides, fighter pilots are supposed to be aggressive assholes. That's what we pay them for. I don't know about you, but I don't want a navy full of fighter pilots who've been to a sensitivity seminar. I want mad-dog, rabid killers going to battle for me and mine. Men and women. When our stable gas prices are threatened by a Middle-Eastern Madman, when we want to force our form of government on some poor, unsuspecting Latin American country, when uppity foreign diplomants "forget" to pay their parking tickets, I want to be able to call on men and women who like to fight and drink and f~~k. I want a naval officer who knows how to whack some drunk in the balls when he grabs her tits, not call a press conference and a lawyer. If you're a wimp who doesn't know how to find the exit at a rowdy party, go fly a kite, not a jet fighter."

Drew Carey a former Marine? I thought that he was an ugly woman in drag. What would Mr. Carey's profane mouth say about Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and other soldiers who served in the Armed Forces honorably and well without having to act like wild animals. Jerks cost the lives of their comrades, not those of the enemy.
In Tailhook, there were many more men there than there were women. The women could have fought, kicked, and scratched all they want, but they stood no chance against a bunch of drunken men who were determined to grope them. These pilots showed themselves to be cowards overpowering these women several men to one. If these wimps needed to gang up on a woman to grope her, then they will be scared to face enemy planes and would run if the odds seemed not favorable. I bet if you looked at the records of some of these Tailhook groper pilots, you will probaly find them not so highly ranked.

Women don't belong in a combat environment. Period. If it weren't for the militant feminists, this would be a non-issue, because there would not have been females in uniform at Tailhook in the first place.

Ever get the feeling Drew is going so hard on the ladies because he doesn't dare voice his opinion on blacks?
I mean, who really feels that women warrant invective like "I said kiss my ass. 'Cause I've had it. I'm tired of being pushed around. I am a potential murderer if all of you don't shut the f.~~k up and get out of my face already. You've ruined it for everybody. Everybody, do you hear me? Men, women, everybody." And who's crazy enough to think they deserve that kind of contempt when compared to ni**ers?

Ausonius: Women don't belong in a combat environment. Period.
WRONG! Women don't belong in the MILITARY (except as medical personnel!) And I say that with six years active duty in the Navy and 10? - 12? in the reserves. They are a fundamental contaminating factor in the main things it takes to MAKE a coherent and functioning military force!
I would like to say they could also be used as support people in the States -- but that then requires the MEN who are actually required (for fighting) to give up the occasional stateside billet. Not an acceptable trade-off.

Av,
I did 10 years. Active Duty Army. Now disabled. I was Infantry and Military Police.
Not to be rude, but you're preaching to the choir. I admit I was spaced on painkillers when I wrote the above post, and you clarify the point I was attempting to make (I feel I made it rather poorly). Except for medical (and maybe PAC folks.. Personnel and Accounting) they have no business being near anything green (or blue for that matter), and sure as hell don't belong in anything Combat Support related. I KNOW how the military works, Av. We are in agreement.

PS Glad you could hang in there so long.. you coming up on retirement yet?

No one's arguing the point,guys.
But Drew Carey is infamous for only "dating" porn stars and strippers...not like he tries to hide it, either. Every gold-digging whore in LA and Vegas has cashed a large check or ten drawn on his account.
It's safe to say that a man who prefers the convenience of buying his women (and surprise, surprise, he prefers them young and nubile) is going to despise them in his heart, and his little rant is just using the military thing to vent some rage & loathing at the carnivorousness of his escort-agency dates and overnight girlfriends.
I mean, if you were going to honestly critique the armed forces for their self-destructive myopia and PC-caused incompetence, you figure he'd say something about the creeping ghettofication of all branches. I've got buddies who were stationed in Germany and they all have horror stories to tell - shot through with contempt for the culture that's authored them.

My take on this is the same IR's. Carey should spew a little venom on the coon sergeants who just love to smooth the way for da bruthas while giving all the crap jobs to Hapless Whitey - or onto the jewws who put the chips on the wimmin's shoulders in the first place.
