Notice how the previous way of calculating casualties, according to which the number of reported dead recently went over 500, got replaced with something new and the number reset to below 400?
MOSUL, Iraq (Reuters) - The U.S. military said it was hunting for the two-man crew of a Kiowa helicopter that crashed Sunday in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, but it was not immediately clear if it had been shot down. A military spokesman in Baghdad said the helicopter came down in the Tigris river running through Mosul, about 390 km (240 miles) northwest of Baghdad, during a search-and-rescue mission for a river patrol that had gone missing earlier.
Two Iraqi police and a translator were believed to have died in the earlier incident, the spokesman said. No further details were available immediately about the cause of the helicopter crash.
Witnesses at the scene said U.S. troops immediately sealed off the site of the crash.
The Kiowa is an armed reconnaissance helicopter.
Friday, a Kiowa crashed near the town of Qayara in northern Iraq, killing two U.S. pilots. The cause of that incident was unknown, though the military said a helicopter accompanying the downed aircraft did not mention hostile fire.
A series of helicopter crashes over the last three months, some under fire from guerrillas, has helped swell the number of U.S. combat casualties since the invasion of Iraq in March of last year to 355.

You better update the Americans death in Iraq, is up to 518 with 5 missing. Better get used to seen the numbers going up. You cannot enslave the people unless they are willing to be slaves. What is going on in Iraq will happen again and again in every country that the USA are willing to "liberate". You cannot fight the big guns of the Americans so you will have to hide your weapons and let them come to you and then fight them close up where they would kill their own if they use the heavy weapons. Like Chairman Mao said "the guerrilla must be among the people what the fish is in the ocean full of fishes" When will the American people learn that what is going on is because of the Zionist Jews? ,,,,,,,, Wake up America.

This is a very important point that all Whites need to have tattooed on their brain. Once the US military is occupying an area, it can no longer use heavy weapons. The same concept applies to actions within the US. The US government is not going to destroy its own infrastructure, personnel, and political viability by bombing its own cities. That's why any future civil war in the US will be fought almost entirely with small arms on a house-to-house basis.

FYI, The over-500 number represents total deaths including accidents, illness, suicides, etc. The lesser 300-some number is hostile fire deaths only.

Yes, over 500 killed. Don't forget the many thousands of Americans crippled and disfigured.
There are tens of thousands of Iraqis America killed in the last year, and tens of thousands more Iraqi's crippled and disfigured by the foriegn military dictatorship that insists it freed the Iraqi people from their popularly elected leader.
At least when the US killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis in the past decade+, and caused massive suffering to millions more, it wasn't done in the name of helping the Iraqis, as is the case now.

I think there's been about 5-6 helicopter shoot-downs in January alone. Sickening and pathetic, this war for Israel. Our men dying and maimed for absolutely nothing but someone else's demented motivations. We ain't gonna win.
