Bill Jones officially declared his candidacy against Barbara Boxer last week.

He has garnered the endorsement of the last two Republican governors, one of whom also served in the Senate...

and he has yet to create a campaign website.

The Republicans are as feckless as ever...

And I bet he's going to come out in favor of immigration.

He's probably been busy working on his speech, where he mentions his great-grand pappy was an immigrant.

GAG.

"And I bet he's going to come out in favor of immigration."

I wouldn't be too sure. I get the impression Jones may be made of sterner stuff than that (although it remains to be seen). He's from the San Joaquin Valley, which means he has a lot of corporate agribusiness donors who are pro-immigration, but that's true of all California Republicans. His Fresno-area supporters, however, tend to be VERY anti-immigration. He endorsed McCain in 2000, admittedly, but that's just evidence he isn't too bright, rather than a sell-out (its not like McCain could have been much worse than Bush, unless he decided to deploy the nukes, and it should also be noted that Sen. Boxer is not very intelligent either, so that aspect of the race will be balanced out).
