CLEVELAND (Reuters) - An Ohio woman who said she lost the winning ticket for a $162 million lottery prize that was awarded to someone else admitted on Thursday it was a case of wishful thinking.
Elicia Battle, 40, made the tearful admission to reporters and said she was dropping a lawsuit filed earlier this week to block the money from being given to the woman who turned in the lucky ticket.
She said she really did buy a ticket and lost it but made her claim mostly because she wanted to win.
"I apologize," she said.
Lottery officials on Tuesday awarded the prize to Rebecca Jemison, 34, saying they were convinced that she had purchased the ticket and not Battle. Among other things Jemison had a second ticket that computerized sales records showed was bought at the same store and at the same time as the winning ticket.
Battle had claimed she bought the winning ticket but lost it when she dropped her purse outside the store.

White peeps be owing me
In that phrase I refuse to use, Laughing Out Loud.
But yo. It's true.
I can tell you that on my job, I encounter on a daily basis the attitude that White peeps be owin' me. And gringos be owin' me, aye aye aye, que lastima. What a typically Springer-style American racial episode, nicely packaged for the jewsmedia because the real winner was also a black woman. That, too, is no surprise. In NYC, the lotto line stretching 'round the block is as black as the welfare line.

bushie just gave blacks 5,000 free dollars for down payments on homes. i wish i could work out a deal like that for my wife & myself, but then i remembered: i live in 2004 America.

I read in a local newspaper recently about a class action suit against a lender who instructed their workers to charge lower fees to negroes and messicans, in order to avoid discrimination charges. It's obvious to anyone but a Freeper that the only way the housing "gap" can be "remedied" is through massive wealth redistribution from the whites.
