Good Ol' Uncle Joe -- What a Guy!
Girl: "Dad, didn't Joe Stalin kill many millions of people in Russia -- and oppress the rest so badly that even his fellow communists were afraid of him?"
Father: "Yes, that is true. Stalin -- and the many Jews under him -- killed far more people than Hitler, and, for far longer than Hitler."
Girl" "So why did a major American magazine name Stalin as Man of the Year -- twice?" [1]
Father: "Uhhh....that's a good question. I don't know."
Yes, that's a good question. Why?
Compared to Stalin, Hitler was a Boy Scout [that's just an expression] in the mass-murder game. And, Hitler was responding to Jewish-led communism. Big diff, itz! [tm, VNN].

The man of the year award goes to the person who made the news. If memory serves, Hitler was also manof the year. I don't think it's to be seen as an endorsement, just a recognition that this person was the major news-maker for the past year.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
It's true that Stalin and the Jewish Bolsheviks killed more people than Hitler.

Yes, Osama bin Laden, if half as responsible as Bush claimed, deserved Man of the Year, but Time wimped out and chose the NY mayor, as if Bozo the Clown, if he were mayor, would have had less impact on the world in 2001.
All sorts of evil and Politically Incorrect people have been Man of the Year. But, it seems that in the 21st century, either the people behind Time don't have the backbone of the people several decades ago or the public has become too ignorant and intolerant to appreciate the distinction between "most influence" and "biggest hero" (even in this case, what made the NY mayor any sort of hero?).
