Media blamed as racism increases

Overt racism increased in Britain last year after nearly two decades of declining prejudice, according to British Social Attitudes, the 20th annual report from the National Centre for Social Research. In 1983, 35% of adults described themselves as prejudiced against people of other races. This rose to a peak of 39% in 1987 before falling steadily to 25% in 2000 and 2001.
But last year the proportion claiming to be racially prejudiced jumped to 31%, the highest figure since 1994.
Catherine Rothon and Anthony Heath of Oxford University, who wrote the research, said the result was probably linked to media coverage of immigration and asylum issues. They found a long-term relationship between self-reported prejudice and hostile newspaper coverage of immigration.
Reaction to the September 11 terrorist attacks may also have contributed to a growth in Islamophobia.
The study said: "Increasing levels of education help explain why Britain has gradually become less racially prejudiced. Generally speaking, more educated people are the least likely to be racially prejudiced. Less than one in five graduates (18%) admit to being prejudiced, compared with more than a third (35%) of those with no qualifications.
"Although older people are no more or less likely than younger ones to admit to being racially prejudiced, they are far less likely to support anti-discrimination legislation. As this generation dies out, it is likely that support for such legislation will grow."
It concluded: "We would emphasise the risks posed by a media-led campaign against immigration."
The report noted that Britain's ethnic minority population had grown by more than half (53%) since 1991 and now stands at 4.6 million.

If racism is defined as not ignoring the race when doing observations, and subsequent noting corellations, this is just common sense.

Aye. And the absence of common sense, or the inability to apply discriminatory powers of any kind when dealing with humans, goes far in explaining why the ââ¬Åeducatedââ¬Â class in Britain and elsewhere has no compunction in calling itself that.

The word choice is a poor one since ââ¬Åschooled,ââ¬Â i.e., conditioned, is to be preferred when describing the end products of contemporary diploma mills. But one ought not be surprised by the absence of precision when similarly ââ¬Åeducatedââ¬Â researchers set about trolling for labels.

This relationship, the existence of which I have no doubt, explains a great many things, including those of no apparent relation.

so what is the total population of Britain? I am assuming that 53% is the amount of increase, not the proportion of the total population. Because if that was in fact the case, Britain is forever lost. And 53% would make whites the minority in their own country now and on the endagered species list.
Yet this is not supposed to alarm anyone? We are supposed to be perfectly content with allowing this to happen? The white race is dying off, at an alarming rate, but this is OK? Whites are taught to think that we are ALL AS ONE and therefor we are not aloud to be proud of our culture and if we are we are ostricized immediately. All the while everyone else is out for their own, which of course... is also perfectly OK. Not to mention that we are the only ones to breed responsibly.. which ultimitely may lead to our demise.

And mind you, this is in Britain--where people are fined or imprisoned for "Thoughtcrime" and regime spooks are paid to eavesdrop on private conversations for insensitive expressions.
The fact that 1/3 of them chanced retribution to speak their souls is heartening... :thumbsup:

I agree. If even 25% of our race began living morally and intelligently again, I believe most problems would vanish. That they're getting fed up enough to speak out about it is positive for all of us.

As Jared Taylor says, the purpose of an "education" is to give you the right attitude toward minorities and the resources to live as far away from them as possible.

To KoPain, If the article had said the minority population had grown TO 53% since 1991 that would mean one thing. But growing BY 53% means that in 1991 it was 2.2 million and now its 4.6 million. The population of Britain is 60 million so minorities comprise 7.6% of the population.
