Overheard yesterday on WJFK in D.C., during O'Reilly's Hour of Neocon Power:

O'Reilly has a phone call from Robert Duvall. Duvall, saying he basically shares O'Reilly's politics, takes him to task for being two-faced by praising actors then blasting them for their politics. Some mumble-mumble from O'Reilly, then out of the blue he brings up Mel Gibson, saying that actors have to hold "leftist" positions in order to work in Hollywood.

Duvall immediately jumps on this, saying that Gibson is being castigated for his new movie. O'Reilly concurs, saying again that it is a "leftist" plot, and that "they" don't like Gibson's movie.

Duvall: Who? O'Reilly: The people that don't like Gibson's movie, that's who. Duvall: No, I mean WHO? O'Reilly: Well, um, you know, ah...the Secularists? Duvall: Yeah, well, even the religious Jews don't like his movie. Now explain that. O'Reilly: Right, well, it's unfair and it's anti-Christian. Duvall: Right.

O'Reillly quickly changes the topic and shuffles Duvall off the air. Then he jumps into a discussion about Christian symbolism and Christmas decorations at the White House, responding to a listener mail that asked if O'Reilly would mind Hannukah junk spread around the White House. Big Bill states loudly that if Lieberman were President, he would and could do just that and O'Reilly would welcome and approve it. At this point I started imagining Duvall as Gus McRae, reaching over the bar and pistol-whipping smug O'Reilly across the temple with his four pound Colt Dragoon.

I think Duvall might not work much more in Hollywood, and might not care. O'Reilly, on the other hand, is still buttering his toast.

Anybody else hear this exchange?

I didn't hear it whitebread, but I do like the mental picture created by the above.

"I'll give you two dollars..."

That's part of what's so maddening about listening to 'conservative' talk radio. These guys' collective swagger about "taking on the PC left" is so much empty sound and fury. This is just one example of the many topics these cowards wouldn't touch with a ten-footer.

This is why the third front exists: because "conservative" means "businessman" and they've adopted liberal values under guise of the opposite. :gunsmilie

Weisbrot,

I heard it yesterday and shouted at the radio "Say it! Jews! Who else is always bitching about this."

Bill was trying to be coy here and Duvall said it (most, that is) for him.

I've always considered Robert Duvall one of the very best American actors. For one thing he's always portrayed Southern characters sympathetically as real people, not as the standard Hollywitz Deliverance inbreds. And with today's clear pointing of the Finger of Jewcusation at Shecky, he's earned an even greater respect. Salute!

Of course, he was put on the shit list of every Power Chew withing 30 minutes of pointing said finger, so his career ist kaput. But I bet he doesn't give a damn: he's too busy riding horses on his Northern Virginia farm, or flying his young Argentine wife down to Buenos Aires for tango lessons.

Let's look at the transcript again.

Duvall: Yeah, well, even the religious Jews don't like his movie. Now explain that. O'Reilly: *Right, well, it's unfair and it's anti-Christian. Duvall: Right.

O'Reillly quickly changes the topic and shuffles Duvall off the air.***

Ever been in the presence of conservative higher-ups? Whenever you get too close to topics like these, you always get the same reaction. They get extremely nervous and change the topic.

The odd thing is I think this tendency perpetuates the very thing - leftism - they so oppose. Everyone knows basically if you want to seriously criticize the Jews in this country, you have to cover your left flank. So if you think Jewish power is a substantial threat in this country, you had darn well better do it from the left.

Okie,

O'Reilly knows very well who is raising all the hell.

It was the way O'Reilly said it that I noticed and when Duvall came right out with what I think Bill was thinking, Bill immediately backed off, knowing that he was stepping into deep water. Other than that, I agree. It is best to approach them from the Left. I can only figure that Jews are a little bit more tolerate for this in the same way the Rosenbergs and their helpers gave Stalin the bomb despite the expulsion of Trotsky and the Show trials.

Sure its better to attack them from the left, since jews are predominantly left-wing. Succinctly they view left-wing critiques as something coming from within their worldview, and basically managable. Sort of like when a family member or friend criticizes you for not being yourself.

Where conservativism has sold out is its basic line today that ALL criticisms of jews today are like that, i.e., anti-semitism is basically "left-wing" - the neo-con line.

BillyO has been a big disappointment to me. Most of the time his ego is talking, the rest a semi-educated view of the issue at hand. He loves to shoot from the hip. His radio show is even more anemic. Remember last year when he had the two "alphabet bros" on, Malcolm Y and Quatrelle X, or some such lunatic pseudo-Muslim appellations. He was uncharacteristically obsequious even asking a leading question of them, "do you think I'm a racist?" Like, who gives a sh*t what these morons think. But BillyO's bravado gave way to the kind of white fright that is often evidenced when a ghetto homeboy comes up to you on a deserted street.

And if it's possible, BillyO is even more afraid of his Jew handlers than he was of these blacks. They pay his salary...they control his life.

I didn't hear the exchange with Duvall. I always knew I liked the guy. Great actor, great American. It took courage. Billy-boy's evaporates on contact with Jews and blacks.

I remember I got a good kick out of the O'Reilly Factor when ol' Bill announced during his show that he could not reveal the results of his Web poll on segregation at high school proms because "of a neo-Nazi organization called Stormfront". He ended his rant with an angry, "Hey Nazis, get off my website!"

Sorry, Bill, we're just doing our jobs :smoke:
