It's been a miserable year for the American radical right.
Since the death in July 2002 of William Pierce, founder of the neo-Nazi National Alliance, leading activists have been arrested, sent to prison, deported and even killed. The Alliance, which just a year ago was thriving, has lost hundreds of members, seen key players on its board resign in protest against its new leader, and suffered a precipitous drop in both income and prestige.
The second most important neo-Nazi group, the World Church of the Creator, has no active leader and has practically ceased to exist as its long-time chieftain awaits trial for alleged solicitation of murder. At the same time, other activists and groups have risen as part of a general realignment of the radical right.
What follows are snapshots of some of these ideologues and activists from various sectors of the movement ââ¬â some of them longstanding and well-known leaders, but also a significant number whose importance and roles have clearly changed in recent months.
While this list is far from comprehensive, it offers a window onto the shape that the radical right is likely to take as new groups form and others disappear.
Organizations listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center as hate groups that were active during 2002 are indicated by an asterisk.

I think its sort of shocking to see Jerod Taylor and Sam Francis lumped in the same category as Tom Metzger, or Mark Weber as Alex Linder.
Or for that matter to here that the SPLC assert a differnce between "White Supremacist" and "Neo-Nazi".

Strange that Kevin Strom of the National Alliance didn't make the list, since he's the "brain power" driving that organization ever since the demise of Dr. William Pierce. Yet a boob like Erich Gliebe is mentioned.

Well, welcome to the real world, Okie! Where Jews define ALL the terms and draw ALL the lines of demarcation.
You think it's 'shocking' that principled, telegenic, baby-kissing, suit-and-tie moderates get lumped in with hard-core goose-stepping Joo-haters, huh? What a shame. Now take off the blinders and you might notice that - to Jews and their shabgoys - we all fall into two categories: Nazis and cattle. The same way blacks see us all as either crackers or pussies.
There's only one group foolish enough to [B]not [/B] view all life through the prism of Race, and Race as a fight to the death.....and that's the race whistling commercial jingles and Sunday hymns on their way to the abattoir.

This situation must clearly be remedied.
From his hideaway in _, _, "Franco," whose real name is _ _, ranks among the most radical of the non-banned posters at Original Dissent, a racist and anti-Semitic Internet discussion board that masquerades as mainstream conservative. Franco can be counted on for his brevity and levity when other, ostensibly more educated posters become bogged down in finer points of philosophy, history or political science. "It's the freakin' Jews, guys!" Franco will say. Franco plants on his signature line a link to Alex Linder's Vanguard News Network, along with the words, "If the truth is hate, then hate is the truth." Franco obviously cannot get over his own blinding hate long enough to see that there's only one race, the human race. Also, SPLC investigators dispatched to Franco's trash can have determined that he eats frozen dinners and drinks cheap beer.
Franco is one to watch in 2004.

About a half dozen CofCC members made the list.
The SPLC writings/lists are half-assed at best. Some people are on the list because they "supported Duke or Bushannan." However, Duke and Buchannan neither one are even on the list.
In the past, they listed Michael Moynihan as one of the greatest Neo-Nazis in America. Moyniham is the front man for Blood Axis, a member of the Asatru Folk Assembly and a member of (puke) Anton Levay's Church of Satan. Neither group is even close to being a Neo-Nazi group.
If all the Neo-Nazi groups died out, the SPLC and ADL would just start some new ones. There fund raising campaigns and directors million dollar salaries depend on it. Look at the SPLC, a 60+ million dollar endowment to fight nazis, when they achknowledge themselves that the largest Neo-Nazi group has fewer than 800 members.
