Some weeks ago, noted author and liberal Ludovic Kenndey, criticised television for depicting too many blacks in everyday situations. The full article may accessed on the Guardian of Sept. 26th. Kennedy charged political correctness run amok among other things.(all true) The current glut of Blacks on TV resulted from the NAACP complaining about the lack of black actors on ads during the 60's. The issue was addressed as was the charge of not enough blacks being presented on tv in general. the media elite got cracking and low and behold soon the boob tube looked like an Afro-American church picnic. This representation was not enough and soon blacks were installed in situational scenes where the message was not commercial, but one of integrationist politics. Now we have the scense where Blacks sit down at the holiday meal, and embark on vacations with their black friends. And they are all so happy. Oh a White might get lost on the way to the dinner on a snowy night, but the black opening the door is ready to forgive his somewhat dumb guest. Anyone watching the foul thing called mass-tv is familier with these scenes. As to the numbers of Blacks on tv, my local channels(Philadelphia) reflect MOSTLY Black news and events, and I'm not talking about the just hidious crimes that are a common occurance.

Should it be any surprise that the commercials and shows that are considered "classic" were made until the late '60s?? Yes, you would see a black or an Oriental or two along the way, but almost always they were background characters and not the focal point.
