Can anyone recommend a source of Catholic material over the radio, or web-audio?

All we have here locally in EWTN radio, which is an awful mix of psychobabble and shallow sentimentalism, lots of lay people, half-wit Protestant converts and third-rate clergy. They are well-meaning perhaps, but do more harm than good as far as I can see. There are exceptions but they are rare. The Protestant stations here have the occasional good offering, but basically it's equally bad.

Thanks.

I don't know of any pre-Vatican Too radio programs on the air, but I'm sure they would be much better than EWTN. You summed up just about everything that EWTN is about. While watching bits and pieces of the Masses and seeing the celebrants on their networks, they look like ex-leathermen from the Village. It's also obvious that the congregation is overwhelmingly elderly and female.

It also always seemed to me that Mother Angelica carefully surrounds herself with very effeminate men, clergy or otherwise. Or at least very passive. Perhaps they're easier for her to control.

Mother Angelica founded the EWTN network and its components. Had she had been a secular figure founding a mainstream network, she would've been made an icon in the wimminist press already. As long as EWTN names the AmChurch/WomenChurch types, she's ignored, but while EWTN goes on and on about the leftist influences in the modern church, they never question why it's been here in the first place. Hint: Pre-Vatican Too=non-assimilating, critic of Pope=heretic/schismatic. :censored:
