Brain scan 'identifies race bias among white people'
A brain scan that can apparently root out racists has been developed by scientists.
The technique was used on white volunteers shown photographs of black individuals.
In those with racist tendencies, a surge of activity was seen in part of the brain that controls thoughts and behaviour. Scientists believe this reflected volunteers' attempts to to curb their latent racism.
After interacting with real black individuals, the same group performed poorly in a task designed to test mental resources.
The American researchers concluded that harbouring racial prejudice, even unintentionally, stirred up an inner struggle that exhausted the brain.
Dr Jennifer Richeson, assistant professor of psychological and brain sciences at Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, said: "We were surprised to find brain activity in response to faces of black individuals predicted how research participants performed on cognitive tasks after actual interracial interactions."
The scientists first measured the racial bias of 30 white individuals using a standard technique.
Volunteers were given a computer test to record the ease with which they associated with white and black racial groups with concepts that were positive or negative. Those with higher levels of racial bias took longer to associate white people with negative concepts and black people with positive concepts.
The study participants were then asked to interact with either a white or a black individual. Afterwards, they underwent a test which involved making a mental effort to inhibit instinctive responses.
The scan experiment employed a technique called functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to map brain activity.

I'm going to merge and repeat my posts from LF on this subject.
One could easily say that White Guilt indoctrination is what caused a surge of activity in certain parts of the brain and an "inner struggle", not "racial prejudice" itself. Of course, since they have a PC agenda, other explanations are not considered at all.
This test only applies to people who are "exhausting their resources" trying to curb latent racism. It picks out people who show a certain type of brain activity, and their speculation (only speculation) states that it's caused by "trying to curb latent racism". Ironically, it's anti-racists who would most likely be stressed about curbing latent racism, not overt racists who aren't indoctrinated with White Guilt propaganda.. they didn't test those people. The test doesn't pick out overt White racists.
It is socially induced guilt which is being measured, and the results are being twisted by these social engineers posing as scientists to produce more socially induced guilt.

This is too easy. If you're white, and you register any brain activity at all, you're "obviously" a racist.

Both the raving "I hate niggers" racist types, and the more tolerant "just leave me alone" white nationalist types, aren't going to have much mental anguish over just seeing a photo of a black person. It's the white liberal guilt trippers who will twist themselves into knots trying not to be "racist".

Good points, folks.
To add my two cents, I don't think it's the least bit surprising that Whites who aren't racist to some degree don't show much brain activity on the scan of their brains. Such people generally aren't in the habit of using their brains at all.

The big surprise here is that it took so long for such a test to be devised.
I remember in the mid-80's most folks I knew were shocked at the idea of drug testing for employment. Right or wrong, it's SOP now in most hiring situations. How long before this test is refined and becomes just another part of the employment process? College applications? Licensing? Financial disclosures?
Once this test is semi-accepted, "voluntary" aversion therapy might not be too far behind. Smart money might be on the coming ADL/SPLC IPO tagged to their development of a comprehensive anti-racism kit, complete with detection, therapy, and NAICS-linked classification modules.
Parents of kids already "saved" by Ritalin will be ripping doors off of stores carrying the kits. Who wants to allow their third-grader to be stigmatized for life as a Racist Level VII?
As soon as it's ready, I'll buy my brother the Kanine Kure Kit ("now available for Man's Best Friend!") for that maladjusted dawg that keeps barking at Negro's walking by in the street, boosted/liberated stereos on their shoulder.
The possibilities are endless.

However, this is ironic, if it happens, in that it screws up the "true believers" in racial equality (the white ones, of course) but does nothing to those of us who either were never part of, or have unofficially dropped out of, the "system". So suddenly there's a positive inducement towards becoming a white nationalist and thus becoming immune to the guilt tripping manipulation. Those who don't will have to take the full path towards brain washing.
I can attest from my own personal experience that this was once true for me; I was expected to think of everyone as equal, but had to suppress noticing that only whites actually appeared to believe in this, and that everyone else was acting according to their own group interests. Once I accepted the reality of group differences, I stopped having unrealistic expectations, and thus no more unacknowledged "cognitive dissonence".

My understanding is that while drug testing is prevalent for blue collar jobs, many types of white collar employment require the tests as well. Any job that requires driving, for instance, will most likely have a pee cup as part of the interview process. Liability, they say.
The important aspect of this test is that it is done, and the possibility of quantifying "racism" via measurement of brain activity is acknowledged. It doesn't matter that the lack of cognitive dissonance evidenced by an educated racialist would supposedly allow a subject to fly under this initial test's radar. Besides, there have already been numerous tests performed that show the ability of people (and of very young children) to distinguish among other races, and that recognitions is accompanied by physiological changes including brain activity. What is paramount is that these tests become a part of the vernacular, so to speak. It's sort of like Lexis-Nexis: the public becomes convinced that a person can be strapped into a chair and measured for his tendency towards/against evil "racism". The next step is convincing all these folks that such a test must be performed in order to protect the public- an easy task considering the reliance on government as parent, and the ADL-whipped frenzy over intolerance and any type of discrimination.
Not too long ago a test was done at the U. of GA that supposedly measured the amount of latent homosexuality among those who were labeled "homophobic". This was accomplished by strapping some type of equipment on the subjects own personal equipment, and measuring the movement that took place during viewings of homo pornography. It didn't matter that the methodology was highly questionable or that the results were not repeated in other tests; the published "report" on this test is now referred to as proof that all "homophobes" are really just nancy-boys acting tough to escape detection. Its possible that these "racism" tests will follow the same path.

That's why I am sceptical about the term. While it does make sense in the USA as the rejection of the official dogma and while applied to those who've grown up here and had to go through the requisite brainwashing, it actually means "sanity". It's the fvcked-up alternate-reality PC dogma that needs a term. But in the upside-down world, the normality becomes its opposite.

As I joke with my wife, their brain is the size of a walnut hidden in a thick scull. Apparently, there is brain, but its residual activity gets attenuated behind all that bone.

Someone mentioned a B-movie "Gattica" on another thread about a caste system in the future where they'll reserve good jobs only for genetically-enhanced species that pass all the tests. It would be ZOG's dream to get rid of their potential enemies as early as possible in their career advance. It's the next best thing to the zhid fantasies about killing the best of the goyim and their first-born sons etc.
