A radio news report just said that pornographer Larry Flynt has reversed course and will not be publishing nude photos of Jessica Lynch. He cited conversations with his wife as the reason for his backing down: the missus apparently convinced him it would be a sleazy thing to do. At no point did Flynt raise the issue that the woman in the photos is not Jessica Lynch.
I believe Flynt's wife is an ex-hooker; but in any case, as the wife of a nationally-infamous sleaze merchant, it certainly seems odd she'd be A] upset about 'poor taste' and B] concerned over anything he published at this point.
No confirmation yet on Drudge. Anybody else detect the sweaty palm of John Ashcroft's Justice Dept behind this odd 'reversal'?

Flynt is a very politically-minded person and always out to hurt Republicans. I'm sure his motivation is to exploit Lynch to hurt Bush. Flynt's comments confirm this motivation.
Maybe the pictures aren't really of Lynch. Maybe they're very low quality. It was probably for him to conclude that he would get a lot more milage out of the pictures by not printing them than by printing them.

Ahh, Larry Flynt. A showman til the end. I'm willing to bet anything that he does not have pictures of Jessica Lynch, nude or otherwise.

Please forgive my callowness, but is Larry a member of the Tribe?

Larry, the diapered crip, is one of the few major pornographers that isn't a member of the tribe - by birth, that is. I'd say his behavior earns him status as an honorary yidrealite, much the same as our public 'servants' in DC - say, our house members who all (but one, the courageous Dr. Paul) voted to condemn the honest remarks made by the Malaysian PM.
Please forgive my callowness, but is Larry a member of the Tribe?
I've seen him in person -- in fact, I was there for the Supreme Court argument in Falwell v. Flynt -- and I can assure you he is not a MOT.
