[Starrer? - is that a word? Spell check doesn't think so.]

Character driven? Positive reviews? By whom? Other Jews and useful goy?

I watched the series for the express purpose of learning just how low Bruckheimer would stoop in his efforts to morph a Jewish porn king into Mr. Rogers. I must say, Silver and his overactive sweat glands certainly gave it a shot. In one scene Silver gazes intently into the eyes of a conscionable female doctor who has declined his 80 million dollar donation for a hospital wing -- and announces -- [tight head shot accompanied by plaintive violin strings we associate with three hanky scenes from Sophie's Choice] --- Silver's Porn king announced he will - well - he'll make the donation ‘anonymously’ – as though this act of piety is revelatory, or unprecedented.

[Large donors I know in Aspen don’t even allow their representatives to reveal their identity. They don't pitch museum construction or cancer funding, in person, over cocktails at some leafy eatery. REAL money – and BIG money – especially old money - doesn't’reveal its pedigree. It’s just not done.]

But back to Silver’s steely gaze and noble sweat glands … Ooooooh – says the now humbled-and-better-for-it doctor. Such humility in the porn king reveals a noble inner being - a 'character driven nature' - and thus - [music swells again] - as she graciously accepts the hitherto ‘tainted’ 80 mil - she proclaims that she will, indeed, stand beside Silver Jew Porn King at the ribbon cutting – or some such tripe – [cut to commercial]

At this point I was laughing so hard, I missed the actual quote. But that’s not the best part. The best part was Bruckheimer’s carefully crafted Jewish porn king family juxtaposed to the demeaning imagery he saved for the goodly goy District Attorney [whose son is in love with the porn kings self described Jewish daughter].

The obsessively saintly DA, who has vowed to take down the Jew porn king, is revealed to be a tortured philanderer, cheating on his doting Mexican American wife [a local judge]. And it gets better – or worse – depending on if you are Jewish – Silver’s character is also desperately in love with his wife of 20 years. They make love as though they were teenagers [in each episode]

Their marriage is, well -- all that is holy -- a saintly wife and daughter too! -- even in their plight as victims of the dastardly duplicitous DA.

Oh, and in case you missed it… Silver’s Jew porn king HATES, kiddy porn. We are instructed in this, in each of three episodes.
