Hello all at O.D.,
I do not normally think about, much less write about, anything like this, since I consider it one step above nonsense, but I had a rather disconcerting dream the other night. It bothered me so much, however, that I felt I had to put it here to see if anyone has an opinion on it.
I never remember much, if anything, that I dream, but I remember this:
A tower of fire. (Not a mushroom cloud, but a tall building, not quite a skyscraper, made of solid, living fire).
My wife and son waving goodbye to me, prepared for a journey. They wore coats against the chill.
A handful of gold. Not much, maybe a few ounces. Golden Eagles, I think, and maybe a few small bars or wafers.
My own hands, dirty, loading a rifle.
That's it. Like I said, nonsense. But it left me with a general feeling of uneasyness that I could not shake. Anyone have an indication of what any of this could mean? I would appreciate any insight.

My (amateur) opinion is that a dream does not necessarily need to have any coherent "meaning" per se, although some probably do. I think dreams are the result of semi-random nerve cell activation in the brain during sleep. I say "semi-random" because those "circuits" or "pathways" of networked nerve cells that have been used recently seem to be more likely to fire during sleep, and that's why we tend to dream about things that are somewhat related to things we're concerned about.
Having said that, here are some thoughts on your dream, which sounds apocalyptic in theme....
Tower of fire: Maybe something to do with the 9-11 attacks? Or possibly a religious symbol? Maybe even God?
Wife and son waving goodbye: Hopefully that's not a suggestion of death. However, it may be that you are worried about what will happen to them if the sh!t hits the fan in this country. You might be worried about them being killed directly, or you might be worried about what would happen to them if you were killed.
Handful of gold: Again, this sounds like it's related to concerns over the sh!t hitting the fan. Many folks are worried about the devaluation of paper currency.
Loading the rifle: Preparing for the second American Revolution? If it comes to that, I'll be in the trenches with ya.... :gunsmilie
All in all, it sounds to me like you're probably thinking a lot about how this nation is going down the ol' commode, and you feel the future is uncertain. Sadly, I'd say you're right.
That'll be $0.02, please.... :clown:

Strange. I had a weird one the other night too. My children are scattered all over the place,- I dreamed they all came to see me at the same time to say good bye. I haven't seen a couple of them in several years. This was extremely odd, as I don't usually worry about them. Like you, I also think this sort of thing is nonsense. But this is really odd, especially because I remembered it upon awakening. Very disconcerting.

I had a dream about Gandalf conjuring giant tropical frogs the other night.

I was reading this and found it to be interesting.

You have a test coming up. Your mettle is about to be tested or refined.
My wife and son waving goodbye to me, prepared for a journey. They wore coats against the chill.
Since you did not include if they appeared concerned, relieved, or happy, I will base this on either they are going to a safer place or visiting family while you are tested. Usually, dreams are portends to future occurrances. They appear ready for the cold therefore they may have foreknowledge of certain future circumstances or surroundings. In any case, it is a wintertime setting or time involved here.
A handful of gold. Not much, maybe a few ounces. Golden Eagles, I think, and maybe a few small bars or wafers.
Probably has to do with you looking at the items at some future time and wondering what in the world is that really worth.
My own hands, dirty, loading a rifle.
During or after the "test",........... sounds like you will either have to hunt for your food, such as shooting deer or rabbit, living off of the land or you are going to end up having to fight in a battle, possibly by yourself.
One of the more interesting aspects of your dream is the fact that you can see your hands. ( This means you have SOME control over your outcome ) Anyway, there is something coming down the pike. A change so to speak. Something different.

I am not a reader of visions, or a soothsayer. Dream interpetation is not my forte' I suggest you take this to the Lord in Prayer as this sounds like you will need His help for this upcoming event.
