Petaluma Intruder Tries to Attack Young Girl

Nola Woods

Police in Petaluma were searching for a man who broke into a home and tried to molest a girl during a slumber party.

Investigators say the attacker entered the house about 4:30am Sunday, and tried to pull down the pants of a seven-year-old girl who was hosting the party. The child managed to escape and tell her parents. The girl's father chased the man, but he got away.

Police describe the suspect as about 25 years old, 5'10" to 6' tall, with dark short hair, and a mustache and beard. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark baggy pants.

At least two other similar incidents have been reported recently in Petaluma, and police were trying to find out if the cases were connected.

Just a week ago, Petaluma marked the 10-year anniversary of the abduction of Polly Klaas. The 12-year-old was abducted from her home in the middle of the night, and was later found murdered.

Suspect Sought After Trying to Assault Petaluma Girl in Her Home

(KCBS/AP) -- Police are looking for a man who broke into a Petaluma home early Sunday morning and woke up a seven-year-old Petaluma girl by trying to remove her pants.

KCBS reporter Holly Quan says this is the third incident of its kind in that community.

In this incident, police say the girl was hosting a slumber party in her living room with five other children. She was awakened at 4:30 am to a man trying to pull off her pants.

Police say she told the man she had to go to the bathroom and then woke up her parents, who chased the man a block before he got away. She was not sexually assaulted.

The girl’s mother said her daughter is afraid the man will now stalk her.

Police say there have been similar incidents in the neighborhood, one unreported.

The suspect is described as a thin African American male with a moustache and short beard.

Anyone with information is urged to call the police.

Police strongly encourage everyone to lock their doors and windows at night, to keep anyone from getting into their home.

This senseless politically-correct pandering to minorities is utterly idiotic from every angle. Though it may placate the "African-American" community to know that another crime perpetrated by one of its members goes, for all intents and purposes, unreported, I doubt that "moustache and short, dark hair" is really a workable description for anyone who may be on the lookout for this scum.
