Well, I guess I was destined to get kicked out of there eventually. I've been posting on the message boards at [url]http://betboards.bet.com/ubbthreads.php?Cat=[/url] for almost three months now. The topics I've posted have been considered politically incorrect such as absentee fathers, black-on-black crime; you know, the stuff blacks are always blaming Whitey for. When I suggested that possibly blacks are the source of their own problems, I was predictably demonized by the other posters as a [I]self-hater[/I], [I]sell-out[/I], a [I]sambo[/I], [I]house n***er[/I], and my personal favorite, [I]uncle tom[/I].
So now they've finally decided to throw me outta there simply for speaking the truth about Black America. I see now that most blacks still aren't ready to confront reality.
Any comments?

Sorry to hear that, kminta. As sad as it is, your skin color gives you more credibility on any of these issue than us paler folks, but apparently even that credit has its limits when up against cherished notions of accountability and reality. Keep pluggin' though, I'll bet you got through to some.

Cable and media giant Viacom's (Quote, Chart) $3 billion deal to acquire BET Holdings, the African-American owned media company, is a loud indicator of the positioning underway to reach an underserved segment of the urban market, says a local new media executive. Peggy Dodson, the president and CEO of start-up Urban Broadcasting Company, says the deal reaffirms her view of the value media outlets see in reaching an urban market looking for content beyond hip-hop and rap-themed programming.
"They just put a $3 billion ticket on it," says Dodson, whose multi-platform content and distribution company is based in Harlem.
Viacom Inc., whose brands include CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, Paramount Pictures, Infinity Broadcasting, UPN, TNN, and Blockbuster, said it would acquire BET in a deal that includes $2.5 billion in Viacom Class B common stock and assumption of $500 million in debt.
Robert Johnson, the chairman and majority owner of the privately held BET Holdings, is to remain chairman and CEO of the company he founded.
In a statement, Johnson said Viacom "is the perfect home for BET, a healthy, profitable business and the dominant media brand serving the African-American consumer."
Mel Karmazin, Viacom's president and COO, called the deal a major step forward in the media company's strategy to expand in the fastest-growing media industry segment.
Some properties that Viacom gains:
Black Entertainment Television, which reaches 62.4 million households in the country BET on Jazz: The Cable Jazz Channel, a 24-hour network devoted to jazz music and jazz devotees BET Books, a major publisher of African American-themed books under the Arabesque Books label An interest in BET.com, the online portal play of BET as well as interests in radio satellite program channels and parts of movies and documentaries in the works.
Dodson, who says the key to connecting with black and urban audiences is to maintain a grassroots appeal, says Viacom's ownership of CBS is seen as a plus in the deal as well.
"My take on CBS is that they have portrayed African Americans in a better light than 95 percent of the networks out there and I feel they have better grip on how to best market urban properties."
Even in the wake of the demise of Urban Box Office (see separate story), an African American-aimed content aggregator play that ran short of funding, Dodson sees plenty of positioning among major media outlets to reach out to urban audiences looking for a little more than hip-hop culture.
She says that's why she has been able to sign alliances and partnerships with Sony, Bloomberg, and Yack.com in deals to acquire, create and eventually distribute content themes such the latest in animation from Japan and Hong Kong, urban news reports focused on specific markets, poetry and vintage soul programming to appeal to older viewers. And she says the Viacom-BET deal just makes her job to strike more content and alliances easier.
"Our culture has permeated the globe. What was once a niche market is becoming a major market, with the growth of minority populations," adds Dodson. "The positioning for five years down the road, for an audience that could have a major impact on the economy, has begun." *

Blacks love the whole "gangsta rap culture" and that's a fact. They have a choice: they can either reject it or embrace it. They choose to embrace it. Jews wouldn't be selling it if Blacks weren't buying it.

If Blacks really want to get away from Jewish control, there is only one way to do it: they must return to the land of their roots -- Africa! There, they can create their own government, without any interference from the Jews and Whitey, and rebuild the great civilizations of their ancestors (which were no doubt destroyed by evil White men).

BET is "profitable" because it is a basic-cable "must-carry" station. You want cable.... even the most threadbare cable package? Then you're taking BET....like it or not.

What a joke the compulsory designation "African-American" is, considering the vast majority of blacks wouldn't set foot in Africa on a dare. My sister lived there for 2 years - she's married to a white farmer's son - and she came back to the States in shock at the depth of the hatred African blacks feel for the few American blacks who venture back to the "mother country". Apparently, they show up and begin treating the natives like....um...well, [I]slaves[/I]. Whenever the rumor that American blacks were arriving would circulate, the villagers would gather around her door BEGGING her and her husband for work. [I]Unpaid [/I] work, mind you! Just so long as they had nominal 'jobs' to pioint to topreclude their having to work as domestics for vacationing American Negroes!
No, I don't think Cleotis & Marvell will be repatriating any time soon. Besides the hostility of the natives, our blacks are addicted to the combo of a hand to feed them - that doesn't mind being bitten [I]at all[/I].

I'm currently trying to 'convert' a classics major, who gave me a great opening by asking me why Norman Cantor's new book on Antiquity is so bad. And by unbelievable, I mean unbelieveable. How could a person go through his whole life with nothing but lies and hatred to make up the whole of his character? Anyway, now I'm a little hesitant to share my research with the gentleman in question, since it's just a little bit too good. After reading an interview with Bernal, you're immediately radicalized. I can see someone throwing it away, or angrily accsuing me of having made the whole thing up. That's how people are, you know.
So it's no surpise to find, hiding behind the latest behemoth to poison relations between blacks and whites, one of the eternal demons of decomposition. Redstone owns BET? The only proper response: I should have known.
Kminta, seems to me that you did a pretty fine job needling the MauMaus with a few well chosen reminders of the real world. A question, if you don't mind - did you have any sucess with the Jewish question over there? Seems to me that blacks as well as whites would like to know why immigration and outsourcing are destroying any chance to build a liveable civilization.

So now this person thinks I can't be taken seriously simply because of the net fourms I go to. I've tried to talk some sense into this individual, but to no avail. Like I said, most blacks just aren't willing to listen to dissenting opinion.
By the way, Wintermute, to answer you question -- no, I didn't discuss the Jewish question over there. I felt it wasn't really necessary; though I suspect that some of the posters there are aware of who's owns BET.
