#I'm ashamed to admit it, but I don't have any idea whose these fine beings are, with the possible exception of Freya (a friend of mine had a dog named Freya). But even then, I only remember encountering the name.

Who is Frigg?

Frankly, I'm disappointed. I thought that you were an expert on Euro-Paganism.

Hey Friederich, we both got the same top 2 Gods of Freyr and Frigg. This is scary :shocking:

http://fullmoon_deities.tripod.com/norse.html

Freyr : God of fertility, sun and rain. He is a member of the Vanir, and is the brother of the love-goddess Freya. He is considered a gentle and kind god, but also a fierce warrior.

Yeah that sounds a lot like me. :)
Tuesday: Tyr - Norse god of warfare and battle

Actually I believe Tyr was the god of Duelling, or at least from what I read. Thor and Odin were Gods of War, Tyr was more of the "thinking man's warrior god".

I just went to the Select Smart webpage with the German God link, and all it has are questions not even related to the topic. Is the poll over?? How does one get to the German God questionnaire??

Just click on http://www.selectsmart.com/FREE/sel...ient=german_god and then scroll down.

For what it's worth, I found out that I'm:

1 Heimdall

2 Freyr

3 Frigg

#4 Freya #5 Gerd #6 Loki (Gee, I thought he'd be higher on the list) #7 Aegir #8 Njord #9 Odin

10 Thor

I wonder if there's anything similar to this personality test, but using Catholic saints?

Biblical figure http://www.selectsmart.com/FREE/select.php?client=1thessalonians4

Hmmm...we seem to be getting a lot of people with Freyrs in the top 2 spaces on this forum.

Well, gee fellas, if I don't believe in the regular kind of God, I'm not likely to put a lot of stock in these medieval hummel-figurine deities where you can pick your favorite god in your choice of popular designer colors. And if I did, I'd go with the ancient Roman gods, who at least had enough gas in their collective tank to divinely inspire the creation of indoor plumbing.

It's Tex's board, and if he can cheerfully endure my irreverence towards the Christian deity, you'll just have to bear up under my "assault". If I did swear my particular allegiance to the Greco/Roman cosmogony, why would I hold Norse gods in any special reverence?

Oh com'on bruthers can't we all just get along, as Rodney King preached to us during the riots?

Oh yeah there's so much our God has to be jealous of in the Norse Gods. Oh well I guess St. Michael the Archangel could easily kill Odin or Thor, just like how Balder was killed by Loki's prank. After all our God is immortal and so are his heavenly warriors.

By Apollo, at least someone appreciates the classics.

Speaking of Apollo, is there a Nordic god of music?

What? I hate that hippie anthem. If I want to listen to classics, I'll listen to CCR.

I believe it was Bragi.http://www.pantheon.org/articles/b/bragi.html

Bragi,"the god of eloquence and poetry". Close enough, I guess. When I did a check for Norse god of music at http://www.godchecker.com/, I came up with nothing.
