I noticed a thread that I started in the "Miscellaneous" section got the ax (unless it was moved to another section; if it was, I apologize). Fine. However, a private message notifying me about the deletion, with maybe the reason for it, would be appreciated.

I assume you are referencing the thread on the little black girl who was disfigured, supposedly by the exploding jawbreaker. If so, yes I deleted that with extreme prejudice. Taunting a little girl who had been burnt, no matter the cause, with racial insults and such is really beyond the pale and has no place here on this board. Simply deleting the thread was the most lenient action I could have taken.

Thank you for responding. Yes, that was the one. I've seen other threads that I consider as offensive -- if not more offensive -- than that one, but it's your board, and I respect your decision.

T.D., Even from an amoral and purely strategic standpoint your decision made sense to me. There are probably a few fence sitters lurking about who might be scared off by callousness towards children. If I am ever offended by having my post deleted and it was done for strategic purposes, I would consider it the lesser of evils.

There are plenty of boards and sites where you can do all of that and more if you feel so constrained here.

I agree the thread should have been deleted.
I also think Leland's observation is true. Not directly applicable here, perhaps, but definitely true.

We must always hope that we can enlighten others. Many people will not face reality if it's ugly. Maintaining the high moral ground is a better strategy than callously tellin' it like it is. I know it seems unjust and absurd that we should worry about offending the senisibilities of our treasonous bretheren while our people are being systematically exterminated by miscegenation, but if you analyze the psychology of the situation we have no choice.
Strategy. . . . . . . . . . . not emotional gratification.
