Limbaugh Blasts Quarterback on ESPN Wed Oct 1, 9:45 AM ET
By ROB MAADDI, AP Sports Writer
PHILADELPHIA - New ESPN commentator Rush Limbaugh said on the network's pregame show that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was overrated because the media wanted to see a black quarterback do well.
McNabb called the whole thing "sad," but an ESPN spokesman said he didn't think the comments were racially biased.
"He was comparing McNabb's performance on the field to his reputation in the media," spokesman Dave Nagle said Tuesday. He said Limbaugh doesn't do interviews.
On ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown," Limbaugh, the outspoken conservative radio talk show host, said he didn't think McNabb was as good as perceived from the start. The quarterback's career has included two straight NFC championship games and MVP runner-up.
"I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well," Limbaugh said. "There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."
McNabb told the Philadelphia Daily News: "It's sad that you've got to go to skin color. I thought we were through with that whole deal."
A decade ago, there were few black quarterbacks in the NFL. This season, 10 of the 32 teams will have started black quarterbacks in at least one game.
"I think the Philadelphia Eagles and the city of Philadelphia are very lucky to have Donovan McNabb," Eagles coach Andy Reid said, calling his quarterback "the best in the business."
McNabb got off to the worst start of his career this season and was the NFL's lowest-rated starting quarterback after losses to Tampa Bay and New England. Still, the Eagles are 36-22 in games he started. On Sunday, the team was 32-13 over the Buffalo Bills.
With Limbaugh, ratings for the ESPN show are up 10 percent overall this season, and up 26 percent among men 18 to 34 years old, Nagle said. Sunday's show drew its biggest audience in the regular season since November 1996.
"ESPN hired Limbaugh for his passion and his ability to express opinion and spark debate as a football fan," Nagle said. "In just one month, he has certainly delivered."
Limbaugh is best known as the radio host of the politically focused "Rush Limbaugh Show," which is syndicated in more than 650 markets worldwide.
He spent most of the 1990s assailing then-President Clinton (news - web sites) and now spends Sunday mornings talking football, a job he called "the fulfillment of a dream."

Rush may be on to something here.
There is no doubt that getting more blacks into head coaching and QB jobs is part of the so called movement.
We've witnessed enough of this halo effect on judging black coaches such as St Tony Dungee. Ty Willinghan has had his beatification placed on hold since about 3/4 of the way through last season. In Baltimore the local black football writer had the Ravens fans convinced that defensive coach Marvin Lewis not Brian Billick deserved credit for our Super Bowl. Lewis was beginning to get the Dungee treatment and it resulted in his ascension to head coach in Cincinnatti. When that happened all the black beat writers on the east coast complained that he shouild have been given a job where he had a better chance of succeeding. These guys are never happy.
Last year the Ravens gave the horrible Tony Banks a shot and when he was rightfully let go Preston, the black SUN writer, complained loud and long. It was clearly a case of racial solidarity trumping journalistic integrity. If any sportswriter has integrity is seriously in question anyway. But black ones have zilcho. Nada.

The media is salivating for a negroid QB to win it all. I think they (media) were devastated when Atlanta Falcon Michael Vick went down for half the season. They would've fixed games in order for that monkey to go all the way. I laugh at them all. The best QB's are still White.

Apparently skin color is not through for your 2 digit IQ brothers trying to get into college ahead of more qualified Whites, you moronic bushman.

In the interests of fairness, my beef is with the Jew-toady sports media and not the black qbs. Regardless of color, they're all trying to win out there and I've seen nothing to indicate McNabb is a bad guy or a bad qb per se. What I saw of Vick last year was pretty astonishing, and I'm a football fan perfectly capable of differentiating shit from shinola on a gridiron. McNair and Culpepper are also more than capable.
None of this means they're 'better' or 'worse' than white qbs but - again - focus on the Jew who always stands between you and what you're seeing, convincing you it's something else entirely. Playing qb in the NFL requires perhaps the highest intelligence and maturity level in pro sports. If anything, society would be far better off if more black kids emulated a McNabb than a Terrell Owens or Allan Iverson because a McNabb is more intelligent, responsible and team-oriented than the others.
As usual, Limbaugh lies. It is JEWS who seek to elevate the black qb to a higher plateau at the expense of white qbs. JEWS control the sports media the way they control all media. It is JEWS who pretend not to notice that a Kordell Stewart is in the process of crashing and burning in Chicago - the way Charlie Batch and Ray Lucas and Jeff Blake did. They set the tone and the shabbas goys with press cards follow where they are led. Black sportswriters, to a man, have been mentored by the kikocracy: they don't even get their bylines without sitting up and snarling on cue for their Jew editors first. As usual, Rush pulls that all-important punch at the last minute, creating the sort of acceptable, delimited 'controversy' that causes joy in Hymietown - American society atomizes just a little bit further while the name of its true author goes unspoken.
Something is wrong when I deny the evidence of my eyes in order to conform to a prescripted agenda. I'm a white man, not a fu**ing Jew: I can give a quality black qb his due without my house of cards collapsing.

F*ck Rush.
This couldn't happen to a more deserving person, even if he may be correct in this case about the player's merit. I heard the brigadier of bombast earlier saying that it was "liberals and Democrats" that harpe about race. Yet, this hypocrite has spent plenty of time pandering to "hispanics" about the Estrada nomination by saying the Democrats are showing their "racism" against "hispanics." Neo-cons can be just as bad and I think show it in regard to Israel and the Arabs.
Like I said before, f*ck Rush. I hope he retracts his statement and shows himself to be the coward he is.

If memory serves, at least one negro did "win it all." Doug Williams was the Redskin QB ten or fifteen years ago when they went all the way. He was a bust at Tampa and the Redskins rescued him. He eventually became a QB coach I think at the naval academy.
I don't recall any others. Randall Cunningham never did. Warren Moon was probably the smartest black QB ever to play. He had big numbers but was always on bad teams.

Your absolutely correct Buster. I think it was '82 or '83 Super Bowl. Not one in 20 years since. I think that average to good black QB's are never knocked for bad play like average White QB's are. Yes, of course, the media jews will kick it to us every time, but I really don't think black QB's are that good overall. Glorified RB's and WR's they are. Because they can run, jump, and roll out the NFL and the media deems them more exciting than any White QB in the league. The days of a White strong-armed, fearless, pocket QB are just about gone. Elway, Montana, Steve Young, Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason, Troy Aikman, Phil Simms. What ever happened to Trent Dilfer? Wins Super Bowl 35 or 36 with the Ravens and is replaced the following year by Tony Banks or some other joe?

Elway and Tarkenton both could run like deer and throw on the run, and are today - rightfully - considered great qbs. So I can't subscribe to that theory totally.
Right now, with Vick out, the fastest double-threat qb is a white man, Jake Plummer. Sure he reeked for half a decade: he played for the godawful Cardinals! Give him a year or two with Shanahan, though, and watch this guy's smoke.
I can never consider Doug Williams a championship qb - his Super Bowl was in a horribly tainted strike year ('87) and he never passed a completion pct of 50%. Throwing for under 50% was no knock in the Unitas-Tittle era when the game was weighted against passing, but not from the 80s on, when the passing game was deliberately promoted/protected by rules changes out the wazoo, if you're not hitting 50% at least, you're simply not accurate enough to merit more than a passing mention, when talking about the top qbs in the game.
Hey, my idea of a great qb is Phil Simms, maybe the ballsiest pocket passer I've ever seen play. Can never forget the sight of him backing that punk Ronnie Lott up while surrounded by astonished 49ers....or following a crushing sack from Richard Dent in the 93 playoffs with a perfect td strike. But guys like Simms are rare in ANY era.

And indeed The Pillsbury Shabgoy has bitten the bullet and walked the plank.
Resigned from his coveted ESPN job not five minutes ago. He dared offend the Jewish orthodoxy by doubting the holiness of burrheads and meekly offered up his own head without a fight.
Whites will bristle and blame PC (ie blacks). Blacks will flare their sizable nostrils and demand something extra besides Fatso's head - preferably for free. "Whites" like our Jimmy Smits will shriek 'white racism!' in their eagerness to prove how ready for media prime time they are.
And the Jews who watch over us all will smile, knowing they're safe from Hitler for one more day.

You just beat me to this. Ol' El Rushbo, offending the brothers and getting thrown to the wolves. It couldn't happen to a more deserving cretin.
I know it must be hard on him to realize that he isn't as hot:dung: as he thought he was, and to think, all that pandering he has done in the past for minority voters down the drain. (he was on a fool's errand to begain with) Rove will be upset. :p

May he dejectedly walk in on a hot and heavy tryst between his storebought Jew trophy wife and that nigga on ESPN who says "BOO-ya!" on the day Clear Channel hands him his walking papers in about 30 days or so.

Yep, those "freepers" are mad, save a few who expressed disgust at this "courageous" man who is always ready to fight "liberals and Democrats." Too bad it took them so long to realize that Limbaugh is a fraud, but then again, better late than never if they draw the proper conclusions and realize their real enemies are a hell of alot worse than mere "liberals and Democrats."
Let's hope that this is the beginning of the end of Limbaugh and his ilk. He has done enough damage over the years to deserve a fate far worse than this.
He can look at the bright side, though. Think of all the time he'll have for golf!
