A little bit of context is required. During the Soviet occupation of this country in 1940, Jews in great numbers became Stalin's 'willing executioners' (to paraphrase Daniel Goldhagen). Even some Jewish sources aknowledge this (...in Latvia, Lithuania, and even Estonia, where Jews were few in number, where anti-Semitism was absent, and where this ethnic minority was guaranteed unheard-of cultural autonomy? What led so many Baltic Jews to welcome the hordes of Soviet militarism, of Bolshevik totalitarianism...? - Newsview, Jerusalem, August 10, 1980, p. 22). No wonder then that, as soon as the Lithuanians got rid of the Soviets (this they did in a national uprising on the first day of the Soviet-German war [June 22, 1941], taking control of the country long before the German troops were able to occupy it), their first thought was to take revenge over their tormentors. This is the context of the 'Holocaust' in Lithuania.

Currently there are at least three known Jewish NKVD war criminals wanted by Lithuania living abroad. Nachman Dusanski is wanted for his participation in the torture and murder of 74 Lithuanian high school students in 1941 lives in Israel. Simon Burkus is wanted for his participation in the deportation of tens of thousands of Lithuanians to special settlements in Siberia in 1949 also lives in Israel. Finally, Julius Slavinius is wanted for the torture of Lithuanian freedom fighters during the War in the Woods [Lithuanian resistance 1944-1956] is living in Germany. Both Germany and Israel have refused to extradite these criminals despite admissions of guilt from the fugitives themselves.

Israeli parliament speaker slams Lithuanians for contribution to Holocaust

Vilnius. (Interfax/BNS) - Chairman of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, Reuven Rivlin has presented "a historical claim" to Lithuanians for their collaboration with the Nazis in the mass murder of Jews during WWII.

Rivlin made this statement during a speech in the community of Paneriai on Tuesday, when Lithuania was commemorating the victims of Jewish genocide on its territory. Paneriai was a site of mass killings and burial of Jews during the Nazi occupation.

"Standing here, on this land of hell, we should not forget that this all was done not by criminal gangs or hooligans but by thousands of organized people, who were eager to take part in one of the most horrible crimes in history," Rivlin said at a mourning ceremony near a Holocaust memorial in Paneriai.

"The German occupation is not an excuse. Lithuanians cannot be excused for their anti-Soviet feelings, either. The people of Lithuania have yet to answer for many things," he said.

Rivlin noted that a lot of Lithuanians were not only "enthusiastic" in helping the Nazis kill the Jews but were also happy to make fortunes by selling and appropriating the property of those killed.

"The genocide seems to have been very profitable for the Lithuanians. First, the Jews were deprived of their homes, businesses, and other property, while some of their neighbors were apparently happy to grab the property. Nobody seemed to worry that the legitimate owners were slain nearby," the Knesset speaker said.

Later, "the state would legitimize the property of these thieves, and some of the survivors would be denied restitution for the stolen property," he said.

Noting that none of the murderers were forced to take active part in the atrocities, the speaker asked rhetorically, "Who will answer for these crimes? A truly democratic and free Lithuania should realize that the path to a new future must begin here, in Paneriai."

"The relationship between Israel and Lithuania is good in many aspects, but a lot has yet to be done, beginning with this place, so that the Jews and the Lithuanians can look towards a new future together," Rivlin said.

During the Nazi occupation, about 90% of the 220,000-strong Jewish population in Lithuania were killed.
Rivlin and the editorial board of the New York Times need to take a geography lesson or two. The butchery in the Ukraine preceded the killing of Jews and exceeded the number of Jews killed. Even after all these years hearing a Jew confess to lying and apologizing for the slaughter of Slavs is an extremely rare event.

Even very intelligent people need to take a look at the map and confirm that the Soviet Union was much closer to the camps and did nothing. Obviously the military situation had much to with their inability, but they also showed no inclination to rescue Jews.

Rather it is an impossibility.

Interesting comment from a different board:

Same old wild assertions and no evidence. If Rivlin is 'standing on the ground' of a claimed mass grave, then why has no mass grave been excavated?

The assertion of "about 90% of the 220,000-strong Jewish population in Lithuania were killed" is laughable and completely lacking in evidence. Imagine, almost 200,000 Jews allegedly murdered in allegedly known centralized sites, but no mass graves to support the claims, no physical forensic evidence.

And as usual there is the implied need for Lithuania to hand over money, it always comes down to money.

Notice "Lithuania was commemorating the victims of Jewish genocide on its territory". Oh really? All of Lithuania? Who are these 'Lithuanians'?
If Rivlin is 'standing on the ground' of a claimed mass grave, then why has no mass grave been excavated?
Because the mass graves of dead Jews spontaneously combusted into 50-foot geysers of blood and distracted the digging teams.

Jews. No sooner do they finish carpet-bombing the world's conscience into docility at the first critical comment towards their Tribe than they resume character-assassinating every white ethnicity on the face of the Earth. When the time comes for them to be mass-expelled, again, may NASA get the steerage contract.
