Russia has recently emerged as a new epicenter in the global HIV/AIDS pandemic, with one of the world's highest rates of new infection. As of August 2003, there have been more than 245,000 officially diagnosed cases of HIV infection in Russia, over 80 percent of which were reported in the last three years. It is widely acknowledged, however, that Russia's official statistics represent only a fraction of the actual number of HIV-infected Russians; most experts estimate that the true number is somewhere between 1.5 million and 2 million citizens, or over 2 percent of the adult population.

.. of things to come. I may not agree with Russians, may not even like them (I officially have no opinion on them, having never come into contact with any), but this does not bode well. Africa I could care less about. They made their bed (since they're the ones who caused this abomination), now lie in it. But Russia is a different story. With their hospitals in the condition they're in, lack of medical care and access to proper instruction, this could decimate Russia. My heart goes out to them. America must attempt to assist them in all ways possible.

Do remember most of these HIV/AIDS case are IV drug users and whores. Do do drugs or whores you will most likely be safe. The Church in Russia is strong and the Russian are not African Savages. For part I think the Russian have better morals than most Europeans. I think Russia's low birthrate is a far worse prblem than Aids.
