Year of the Sex Olympics:
This is far more of a prophecy than idiocracy (which is also great).

Made in 1968, written by the guy who did the Quatermass Experiment and Children of the Stones. If you've read E. Michael Jones works, it will be familiar territory, but it is one of the creepiest dystopias which resemble modern life that I have ever seen.

Niccolo and Donkey
Great flick, especially because I had no clue what it would be about. The key actor here is Pleasance, both menacing and intelligent, seductive and filthy. The guy had charisma.

Here's the best review I've come across thus far - http://www.slantmagazine.com/film/review/wake-in-fright

Okello : [Hallucinating] That is no ship. That is no forest.

[Arrow hits him]

Okello : That is no arrow. We just imagine the arrows because we fear them.

Alright, I'm gonna watch this.

It is a little like "brave new world." Mostly, I like the writer/producer guy who made this; he also made a pretty good thing about stonehenge, hippies, and what is allegedly the best BBC SF miniseries ever, "Quatermass and the Pit" (made into a decent Hammer movie of the same name eventually). I think it captures soullessness of modern life very well, and it was an obvious insult towards the growing youth culture. Nigel Keane really, really hated hippies.

It's a BBC think piece; basically a top notch Dr. Who episode of the era without Dr. Who. Keane had an outsized influence in TV history, but is little appreciated today. .
